ABOUT MAX WILSON

Detroit native and Parsons School of Design Graduate Max Wilson is a dynamic and creative fashion design executive with a proven track record in pioneering cutting-edge modern designs, implementing luxury lifestyle brands, co-ordinating international resources, and managing design staff.

He mastered his craft working very closely on the design teams with the most powerful and prestigious names in fashion, Including Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren in developing all aspects of their collections.

He revolutionized and executed multi-million dollar lines as a top-level creative executive, including as Ralph Lauren Collection’s first Vice President of Women’s Design (11 years) and as Senior Designer at Calvin Klein Collection.

Wilson developed a powerful working experience with a broad range of markets and disciplines, including developing and designing custom-woven textiles in Europe and Asia, knits and and sweaters, fabric manipulation, beading, embroidery and craft for all categories of clothing and accessories.

He used his skills as an innovative fashion-industry leader to conceptualize new and reinvigorated lines as the Vice President, Women’s Design For Sean John and as Creative Director for Dana Buchman.

As an Assistant Professor at Parsons School of Design he mentors some of the most promising new faces in Fashion and uses his expertise to guide them in various areas of design to prepare them for the fashion industry such as design concepts, materiality and fabric development, line and collection development, fashion culture, critical thinking, trend analysis and creative process.

With a love for fashion and a deep knowledge of fashion history, Wilson recently curated an exhibit named “The Best of New York” at the Museum of Fashion in Miami, Florida, where he also has a residence.

The exhibit featured iconic pieces culled from the vast archives of gallerist and collector Keni Valenti featuring clothing from famed American Designers including Donna Karan, Oscar De La Renta, Geoffrey Beene, Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Anne Klein, Galanos, Giorgio Sant’ Angelo, Norma Kamali and Willi Smith.
