45 Days as a Photographer

June 29th, 2008 by Max Wilson

Last month I had the opportunity to try out the Nikon D300 and decided i would put my video cameras down and shoot only still photos.

I have known the basics of still photography for the past few years, but most my training was on the Cannon Rebel XT DSLR camera. Having not touched a Nikon camera before it was a completely new experience for me.

This all started at a Nikon Photo Shoot at a local skate park called Skate lab, Nikon brought in a professional photographer to help demo the camera and answered any questions we had. After about 4 hours shooting with the D300 i felt confident i understood most of the features.

I was already scheduled to go on a month long RV trip across the country and decided this would be a awesome opportunity to try the camera out and see what I can make of it.

I tried many of the features and settings to create many different looks and create some unique shoots.

By the day i had to return the camera i had shot over 9,000 photos, here is just a few favorites that i had picked out.
